Three men and one woman have been arrested following a drug trafficking investigation in the Moncton & Saint-Paul regions of the province. Last week, on April 10th, members of the RCMP Provincial Crime Reduction Unit (PCRU) along with assistance from RCMP Police Dog Services, executed search warrants at two locations on Bon Secours Road in Saint-Paul, and Enviro Drive in Moncton. During the searches, police seized significant quantities of what is believed to be cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, methamphetamine pills, hydromorphone pills, and oxycodone pills. Police also seized nearly 30,000 contraband cigarettes, three firearms, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and money. Police also recovered a number of stolen items related to other files, including a side-by-side, two utility trailers, license plates, and e-bikes. A 49-year-old woman, a 33-year-old man, a 41-year-old man, and a 62-year-old man were all arrested in connection with the investigation. More: rcmp-grc.ca/143709

The Federal Budget will be released later today by the liberal government…and experts think they’re going to raise taxes to pay for all of the promises they’ve been making. A slew of announcements this Winter & Spring, including billions of dollars for housing and national defence, raises a big question: How will the Liberals pay for it all? Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland has promised the deficit won’t increase and ruled out raising taxes on the middle class.
The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is looking for a balanced budget and spending reduction in today’s federal budget…Franco Terrazzano, CTF Federal Director, says “We haven’t seen one iota of fiscal responsibility from the Trudeau government, so hopefully Budget 2024 changes course.”
