Back in January when Premier Blaine Higgs announced the “emergency workers benefit” he said it could help up to 250,000 eligible recipients. The premier also said he hoped most, if not all of the money would be in people’s hands by March 31st…but it turns out that by March 31st, less than 50,000 applications had been received by the government. Opposition parties say that the application process is too complicated and the government needs to simplify the process. Applications for the Emergency Workers Benefit are open until June 30th: https://www2.gnb.ca/content/gnb/en/corporate/promo/new-brunswick-workers-benefit.html?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw8diwBhAbEiwA7i_sJVGstKMej2N7tKOEgFOvjggZaSpemQYsYiXQky3zqo-s6Dfe4DeTKBoCAasQAvD_BwE
