Team Canada is going to play for World Junior Hockey GOLD tonight! It was a slow start for the Canadians in Halifax last night…they were down to Team USA 2-1 after the first period but they came roaring back to win the semi final 6-2! Canada will play Czechia tonight at 7:30pm Atlantic Time for the championship. The Czechs got by Sweden 2-1 in overtime in the other semi yesterday.
There’s another big party in downtown place today for the last day of the Juniors…Today’s events start with the bronze medal game between USA & Sweden being shown on the outdoor big screen at 3:30pm…after the game there’s live music and entertainment until the Team Canada vs Czechia gold medal final happens at 7:30pm…and that game goes on the big screen as well.
A reminder – petroleum prices in NB change on Friday now, not Thursday. My best guess is gasoline up⬆️for the third week in a row maybe 3 cents. Diesel and heating oil look like they won’t move much at all ↔️ following an 8 cent cut in a special price setting last Saturday. https://t.co/43niDmQJOQ

— Times & Transcript (@TimesTranscript) January 4, 2023
Ambulance New Brunswick says that one of it’s ambulances was ROBBED while paramedics were out on a call on Monday in Moncton! A spokesperson told the Times & Transcript that some medications and other supplies were stolen. They said no narcotics were taken and patient care was not affected. The spokesperson said that police are investigating.
The Village of Salisbury says that the New Brunswick Department of Transportation and Infrastructure has made the decision to CLOSE Route 106, Main Street, in Salisbury at the location of the culvert for McNaughton Brook between Larsen Lane and Parkin Street. Officials say the closure is because of “the rapidly eroding roadbed at that location following another weekend of significant rainfall and snow-melt”. That section of road is closed until further notice and there is detour signage set up.

Town of Riverview Christmas Tree Pick Up Info: During the week of January 9, 2023, place your natural tree curbside on your regular pick-up day for collection. Please ensure that all decorations, tinsel and lights are removed from the tree. (Due to demand, your tree may be collected a few days after your regular waste pick-up day.) Meanwhile, as we now officially enter the winter months, Town officials request that residents place garbage bags a few feet from the end of their driveways, not on top of snow banks. If not possible, please reduce the size of your snow bank before placing bags to reduce the risk of injury for both residents and waste collectors. Please keep in mind the winter parking ban which prohibits parking on Town streets from midnight to 7 a.m. until March 31.
