Brian Gallant’s Liberals plan to hold onto power when the New Brunswick legislature sits on Tuesday. Acting house leader Lisa Harris said Friday there will be a candidate for the Speaker’s job when the house sits… but she didn’t say if the candidate will come from the Liberals or an opposition party.
Elections NB says that they have reconsidered their decision to postpone municipal bylections until the Spring and will now have them on December 10th. In Moncton there’s a vacant city council spot in Ward 3 since Rob McKee won a seat as an MLA. Around here there are also vacant council spots that need to be filled in Alma, Beaubassin East, Sackville, & Salisbury. Get more info HERE.

The Moncton Wildcats beat Shawinigan 7-2 on Saturday night. Yesterday it was a 5-4 win over Rimouski. The Cats play Saint John on Thursday night at the Avenir Centre.

Tantramar wraps up the high school football regular season outscoring opponents 275-8 😲 (The only teams to score points against them were Saint John with 7, and Riverview with 1) The Titans & Royals finish 1st & 2nd and both host playoff games next weekend. Riverview Royals will play Saint John Friday at 7pm @ Rocky Stone. Tantramar hosts Fredericton High Saturday at 1pm in Sackville.
Over in the 10 man BMHS finished in first place & Trimble finished third in Pool A. Both make the playoffs as well!
