The New Brunswick R-C-M-P’s Major Crime Unit is investigating the discovery of a body on West Lane behind the Moncton Hospital on Wednesday. Mounties say the death seems to be suspicious and they’re working to identify the person.
K9 unit on scene of West Lane & Arden St. Neighbour tells me “I heard a woman overdosed and was put in the back of a trunk.” None of this has been confirmed with RCMP. Death only being deemed as “suspicious” at this point. #Moncton pic.twitter.com/8NyujIOXJG

PC leader Blaine Higgs is demanding Premier Brian Gallant’s immediate resignation. Higgs says the Liberals are offering incentives to Tory caucus members to get them to cross the floor. To be fair…the Liberals are accusing the PCs of the same thing. Gallant says he will test the confidence of the house around Christmas time while Higgs says the legislature should be recalled now.

Apparently Anglo East is looking at closing three schools and merging them into a new building…Mountain View, Sunny Brea & Forest Glen schools all need expensive repairs and they don’t have enough students. The district is going to have public meetings with parents on October 18th and November 14th (both meetings will be held at Sunny Brea 7-9pm) and then will have a vote on November 20th.
From the CBC article:
– Forest Glen, (K-4), had 318 students enrolled as of last September but has a capacity of 468 students. The school needs $1.5 million of maintenance work and repairs.
– Sunny Brae, (Grades 5-8), Capacity: 399 students with 302 enrolled last year. Needs more than $2.5 million of work.
– Mountain View, (K-5), Capacity: 145 students; had 102 enrolled last year. Needs $900,000 worth of repairs.
#Moncton traffic: Main Street, between Bonaccord and Foundry, will have lane reductions from 9a.m. – 4 p.m. on Friday, September 28, weather permitting, to install signage on the CN subway structure. Detours will be in place. #TrafficNB pic.twitter.com/0WYXdH9vKG
