Codiac RCMP are investigating a home invasion that happened on High Street in Moncton early Sunday morning. The Times & Transcript is reporting that at approximately 1:25am yesterday three masked men entered a home near High & Park Streets and assaulted the residents and tried to steal things from the home. There was apparently such a racket that a neighbor, a young mom, came out of a nearby home to see what was happening and she ended up chasing the suspects for a couple of streets but they all got away. Police say they’re investigating. (There’s a CBC story about this too)
RCMP are also investigating an armed hold-up in Riverview, Saturday night. a man was robbed at gunpoint by two men on Whitepine Road.
There were no injuries. The Mountie could not say what was taken from the man. That incident is also under investigation.
Bessborough Leadership students and staff will continue with their tradition of planning and preparing meals for the Ronald McDonald Room, located in the Moncton Hospital. Students are volunteering today with the Home for Dinner Program, which allows families to stay close to their loved ones while they’re receiving treatment at the hospital.
The MHS Field Hockey Team is hosting at fundraiser at St. Louis on Mountain Road tonight (September 24th) from 5 PM until closing. Come on out and enjoy a great meal and support the team at the same time!

The Moncton Wildcats lost 5-4 in Saint John yesterday afternoon. Moncton’s home opener is at the Avenir Centre this Friday night against the Sea Dogs. Apparently it’s almost a sellout with less than 200 tickets left. The Times & Transcript is reporting that season ticket sales have been hot with over 2,400 sold so far…Director of Business Operations Ryan Jenner says that’s the most they’ve sold since he’s been with the team.
