Gas experts are predicting that pump prices will drop by two or three cents tonight when the EUB resets the new maximum prices. Regular self serve has been selling for around $1.28.5 a litre this week in Greater Moncton. Experts say that diesel and furnace oil may keep going up…maybe a cent tonight.

Keith Urban is playing at Moncton’s brand new Avenir Centre tonight! Doors Open at 6pm…Event Starts at 7:30pm…SMG Moncton has announced some security measures for the new arena. There will be metal detectors at every entrance for all events. No purses or bags larger than 14″x14″x6″ will be allowed in the centre, and they’ll have a “no re-entry policy”…that means you can’t leave to have a smoke.

In order to allow for safe exit from the Avenir Centre on September 12 following the Keith Urban concert, please be advised of the following traffic changes:
Regular vehicular traffic
• There will be no access to Canada Street via Highfield Street or Main Street
• Access to Canada Street will be by Vaughan Harvey Blvd
• Those accessing Canada Street for accessibility pickup will be permitted entry via Highfield Street and Main Street
• RCMP will be stationed at checkpoints to allow entry
• Codiac Transpo pickup for the Green and Blue lines is to the left of the building exit doors
Traffic changes will be implemented immediately following the event, and are expected to last approximately 30 minutes

The city says that Codiac Transpo will be adding 5 or 6 extra buses on concert nights like tonight and for other big events…the bus costs you $2.50 but will be free after 10pm on event nights. The city is asking for patience tonight…since this is a first for everybody involved. The City of Moncton’s Isabelle Leblanc tells the CBC that they’ve already scheduled a meeting for the end of the week to talk about how the first big event went. (I figure if we can get 100,000 in and out of the downtown for the Santa Claus parade…we can do this! >Tony)

Harrisville/Dieppe Blvds overpass on Rte 15 will be shut down from Sept 12 to the 28. Detour signage will be in place to direct traffic. #Dieppe. And keep in mind that both exits ramps from Rte 15 onto Harrisville/Dieppe Blvds are currently closed.
