Moncton city councillor Shawn Crossman announced yesterday that he’s been diagnosed with cancer. Crossman told the Times & Transcript that he’d been suffering from a sore back for several months and when he went in to have surgery doctors discovered he has multiple myeloma…a type of cancer in the plasma cells of the bone marrow. Crossman, who’s 46, is getting chemotherapy now and says he’s going to “fight it” and that he’s “here for the long term”. He also vows to be at next Monday’s council meeting and to continue fighting for residents in the East end to get their pool.
