All that rain in not good news for residents in the Fredericton and Saint John River Valley areas…Officials say that by the time this week is over people in those parts of the province could experience the worst flooding since 1973…water levels along southern regions of the Saint John River basin expected to increase in several areas. The EMO says people who have experienced flooding in the past could experience “similar or worse conditions over the next few days.” Water levels in the Fredericton are expected to stay at their current elevated levels as well…There is still snow in northern regions, which is contributing to high water levels as it melts.
Experts are predicting that gas prices will go UP 1-2¢ tonight. Regular self serve is selling for around $1.25 at most places in Greater Moncton this week.

The City of Moncton says park equipment at the Fairview Knoll playground will be replaced after it was destroyed late Friday night. A suspicious fire caused more than $70,000 worth of damage to equipment including a rubberized surface which allowed people with mobility challenges and wheelchairs access to the equipment. Dan Hicks, director of parks and leisure operations, told the CBC repairs will likely take until the end of June.
