The very first New Brunswick Family Day holiday is this coming Monday…The government has put up a website showing different stuff that’s going on around the province. Here in Greater Moncton the YMCA is going to be open for FREE for everybody to check out what’s happening there. There’s going to be FREE family skating at the Kay Arena and at the Superior Propane Centre on Monday. Resurgo Place…Moncton Museum and the Transportation Discovery Centre…is offering FREE admission tomorrow (sat. feb. 17) in honour of the Family Day long weekend!

The New Brunswick government showed us what the marijuana retail stores are going to look like yesterday. It kind of looks like a phone store. Apparently the stores will sell about 200 different products…and much like the products at the liquor store there will be a price range for different qualities of marijuana. NB Liquor CEO Brian Harriman says the Cannabis NB “retail experience won’t be like buying from ‘the back of a car behind the Walmart…”.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, the day before the unveiling of the new government dope stores…the RCMP arrested 6 people in Moncton and shut down two “illegal” marijuana dispensaries. Critics say that those stores are only illegal now that the government is in the business…and that the province is basically just shutting down the competition. Both dispensaries were on Mapleton and the people arrested have court dates for later this year.

It’s Day 7 at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
Canada starts the day in third place in the medal standing with 13 medals…
The Canadian women’s curling team has zero wins and three losses after losing to Denmark overnight. Canada is the only women’s curling team at the Olympics without a win.
Here’s a quote from Danish skip after beating Canada. “Canada was playing afraid to lose. They’re the favourites and were terrified to go 0-3”
Things didn’t go as planned for Canada’s figure skating gold medal hope Patrick Chan last night…The three-time world champion from Toronto fell on his triple Axel in his short program, and heads into Saturday’s long program in sixth place…
