No question that one of the top trending topics around the country in 2017 has been legalizing marijuana. Now a new poll suggests that the legal dope market might not be as big as the predictions thought…only about 20 percent of New Brunswick residents who responded to the survey done by Corporate Research Associates say they plan to buy any legal marijuana. Among 18-34 year olds that number is more than double what it is for older people in the province. The City of Moncton is having to pay more to get road salt to Moncton…so they’re going to try and use less of it…especially on side streets. Director of Public Works Don Morehouse tells Global News that while the cost of salt is actually down…they now have to bring it in from Saint John instead of Sussex…and that costs the City an extra $40,000. Morehouse says that salting main routes will be a priority and that crews also now spray a salt brine on the streets before a storm which is effective at reducing snow and ice buildup on the roads.
