Franc South Schools in Rogersville, Miramichi, Baie Ste. Anne, and the Capitol Region are CLOSED.
Anglo North: All schools in the Miramichi, Bathurst, Dalhousie and Campbellton areas are closed today. Schools in the Rexton/Harcourt area are open.
Anglo West: All schools CLOSED because of the weather
Gas prices aren’t supposed to change much tonight…they might drop a cent. Regular self serve has been selling for just under $1.12 a litre at most places around Greater Moncton.

The City of Moncton announced yesterday that the new Downtown Centre skating oval will be named after longtime city employee, the late Ian Fowler. His friends John & Leslie Manship were on hand with Fowler’s widow Susan to help make the announcement yesterday. The Manships have donated $1.1 million towards the oval and plaza next to the events centre. Ian Fowler worked for the city of Moncton for more than 30 years and helped bring giant events like the Rolling Stones & AC/DC to Magnetic Hill…and sports events like World Junior Track and Field Championships and Touchdown Atlantic. He also developed Camp Centennial, and helped to establish the Moncton Kiwanis Minor Basketball Association and a was an administrator, coach and referee.

A 35-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman have been charged with multiple drug offenses after Southeast RCMP executed a search warrant at a home in Grand-Barachois on Monday. During the search, the Shediac RCMP Crime Reduction Unit seized a large quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone, oxycodone, marijuana, marijuana resin and a quantity of cash. Police also seized a taser and a crossbow. Randy Scopie and Jenny Clements appeared in Moncton Provincial Court yesterday and both were charged with several counts of drug trafficking and weapons offenses.

Moncton’s Farmer’s Truck fresh produce business is going off the road for good. Farmer’s Truck founder Frederic Laforge wrote in a Facebook post yesterday that “It is with a heavy heart that we have made a strategic decision to close The Farmers’ Truck business effective Dec 18th”. Laforge said the closure will allow the company’s team to focus on helping Cooperation in Agri-Food New Brunswick (CANB), which aims to bring local food to schools in the province.
Food Depot Alimentaire needs your help with it’s Christmas Food Box program…So far they only have donations to fill 550 boxes and they need 1800. Boxes are packed and delivered next Tuesday and Wednesday.
