Codiac RCMP have issued a warning about a prepaid credit card and gift card scam in the Moncton area. They’re asking that you take a close look at the bar code of any card that you purchase. Apparently what happens is the bad guys change the bar code…then they put it back on the shelf…then you buy it…and if you load money on it then the cash ends up on the crooks cards instead of yours.

City of Moncton councilors voted unanimously last night to make a number of dangerous railway crossings in the city safer for people using assistive devices like wheelchairs. Those crossings include one where Steven Harel’s wheelchair became stuck in 2016 and he was hit and killed by a train. The Times & Transcript says that the work won’t happen overnight…that particular crossing on Robinson won’t be fixed for another couple of years…in fact the city has until 2021 to fix the crossings under new federal guidelines…but they say that three will be finished this construction season. The City’s transportation coordinator Stephane Thibodeau tells the Times & Transcript that the work is expensive, needs special material that is difficult to get, and the work needs to be lined up with CN’s schedule. The work will cost about $50,000 per crossing but 80% of the money will come from Ottawa.
Construction season is well underway in Riverview. Here’s a look at road work taking place this summer. https://t.co/AvX5TRBUoh
