Today is International Women’s Day 2018!
— Huddle (@HuddleToday) March 7, 2018
Today is International Women’s Day 2018…You know we like to think that here in Canada we’ve always been some sort of glowing beacon of advanced society…a place where everybody is equal…but it was only 100 years ago that some…not all…some women were given the right to vote in federal elections. And it was nearly 10 years later in 1927 that Nellie Mclung and four other women had to petition the Canadian government to prove that women were persons who could run for office. They had to prove that they were PEOPLE! You can read more about The Famous Five HERE.
