Greater Moncton Weather: (Extended forecast HERE)
There’s a SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT about the wild temperature swings we’re getting in the next couple of days…Environment Canada says the high temps today are because of a warm front moving across the region…but that is directly followed by a cold front that will see temperatures drop back down to -8 tonight and to -16 by tomorrow night!
Today: Sun & clouds this afternoon. Windy. High 14.
Tonight: Cloudy with a chance of showers this evening. Clearing after midnight. Windy. Low -8.
Tomorrow: Sun & clouds. High minus 2….by tomorrow night it’s back down to -16!
Still patchy freezing rain/drizzle early this morning then breaks out into a summer-like afternoon. Drops below freezing again tonight…

A Service celebrating Rebecca Schofield’s life is happening this morning in Riverview. It starts at 11am at The Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Fatima Drive, Riverview with overflow seating in the church hall (The Father Dan Bohan Center).
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the National Kids Cancer Ride, Ronald McDonald House Charities Atlantic, Friends of the Moncton Hospital (Pediatrics Unit), the IWK, or the charity of your choice.
If you’d like to pass along your condolences to the family click HERE.
After dropping more than 5 cents last week gas prices might go back up tonight…but only slightly…experts say it looks like less than a cent increase. Regular self serve is selling for less than a $1.09 at some places around the city.
Check gas prices anytime HERE.

At the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea…
Another GOLD MEDAL overnight for Canada! Brady Leman won the Men’s Ski Cross event. Apparently Leman is known as “the wombat” for his self-described short and stocky physique (“If you hit a wombat with a car you’d wreck the car, and [my teammates] all thought that if I got run over by a car, I’d put a big dent in the hood”)
We got a bronze medal in women’s bobsleigh! Kaillie Humphries and Phylicia George came third behind the Germans and Americans…
It’s going to be a late night for hockey fans…The Canadian Women’s team plays the United States for the gold medal at 12:10 am…
Men’s Hockey: Canada wins it’s quarter final match against the Fins 1-0. The U.S. Men’s hockey team is OUT of the tournament…they lost 3-2 in a shootout to the Czech Republic. Canada will play Germany in one semi final and the Olympic Athletes from Russia with play the Czech Republic in the other…it looks like those go early Friday morning our time.
Canada’s Kaetlyn Osmond is in medal position after the women’s short skate.
Women’s curling: Canada’s women’s team is out after Rachel Homan’s rink lost to Great Britain in a do-or-die match overnight.
In Men’s Curling Kevin Koe’s rink beat Denmark 8-3 in the final game of the round-robin, clinching second place in the final standings heading into the semifinals. They’ll play the U.S. Thursday morning at 7 our time for a chance to move on to the gold medal game.
