Families with an annual income under $37,500 will have access to the free daycare…but only if your kids are 5 and under. Premier Brian Gallant also said that the government will create a wait list for childcare spaces, and increase wages for daycare employees.
The City of Moncton says that old news about a boil water advisory is circulating on social media…Isabelle Leblanc from the city’s communications department says that there is no current boil water order in Moncton. It’s been 10 years tonight since a tragic collision took the lives of 7 members of the Bathurst High basketball team and the coach’s wife. This is the permanent reminder on Route 8 outside Bathurst, where the crash happened. pic.twitter.com/j69RspSqqJ

10 years ago this morning New Brunswick was waking up to the news of the Bathurst High School van accident that claimed the lives of seven members of the basketball team and the coaches wife. The oldest members of The Boys In Red would be 27 now. The team van was heading home from Moncton early in the morning of January 12th when it lost control on the highway just outside Bathurst and veered into an oncoming transport truck. The legacy of that terrible accident are much stricter school team travel regulations here in the province…and 15 passenger vans are no longer used in the Atlantic provinces and Quebec.
