The weather office says we’re looking at a “Major Winter Storm” on Thursday into Friday…Environment Canada’s special weather statement says that snow will start on Thursday afternoon and that we could get up to 25 cms of snow before it poosibly changes over to rain overnight here in the southeast. We’ll know more tomorrow.

The province has released some baby stats for 2017…Preliminary results released by the Vital Statistics Office at Service New Brunswick show that 5,738 children were born in the province in 2017: 2,928 males and 2,810 females. In 2016, there were 6,015 children born: 3,043 males and 2,972 females. Top names for children born in New Brunswick in 2017 included Emma, Olivia, Liam and Noah.

The Molson Coors company is recalling approximately 215,000 limited edition NHL beer glasses after eight people were reported injured while washing the glasses. Health Canada says that as of Dec. 18, Molson Coors had received 11 reports of glasses breaking while being hand-washed, resulting in the eight injuries. The company says the glasses were distributed during October and November in special edition cases of Molson Canadian.

The Moncton Wildcats play Halifax tonight at 7 at the Coliseum. The Cats are currently 12th in the 18 team Q league but already have more points on the season than they finished last year with.
