The Dieppe Fire Dept is reminding you to be careful when you’re deep frying stuff…The responded to a grease fire at an apartment building on Acadie yesterday…no injuries but the apartment was damaged.

A very successful fundraising event for Moncton Headstart last night…Chaired by former Premier Bernard Lord and his wife Diane…the event was held in the Blue Cross atrium and raised over $182,000 in two hours! Moncton Headstart helps about 4,000 families here in the city.

School News: Today is Pajama Day at Evergreen Park School! If you donate a dollar you can go to school in your jammies! How great is that? Money raised goes to Evergreen’s Goodwill Fund…that helps support families in need in our community. Ans speaking of pajamas and Evergreen…The Great Pajama Rally wraps up tomorrow! EPS middle level students in the Alphastars’ leadership group are working to be able to donate as many new pairs of pajamas as they can to kids at Headstart, Moncton Crossroads for Women, as well as to students in their own school. If you would like to help with this rally, please drop off a new pair of pajamas (from baby to adult) in the box located in the lobby, any time between 8:00-4:00 pm, before November 30th.

Four athletes from right here in Southeast NB are at the World Ringette Championships that start today in Mississauga, Ontario! Moncton’s Britney & Jenny Snowdon are playing for the Canadian junior team…they’re the defending champs! Martine Caissie from Bouctouche and Jasmine Leblanc from Dieppe are on the senior team. Also starting today…The Greater Moncton Ladies Hoop Classic basketball tourney gets underway and wraps up Saturday at Harrison Trimble High School. Teams from Quebec and all over the Maritimes (including RHS, MHS, BMHS, and HTHS.) Opening ceremonies happen tonight, 5:00 at Trimble.
